For nearly 20 years, the Slo Rollers car club has donated food to the local food pantries. Usually, the club holds a food drive at Old Fashioned Saturday Night, but the event was cancelled this year due to COVID-19 concerns. The group also cancelled their annual Christmas party. The group members decided to take the funds that are normally used for these events and put them toward a larger than normal donation to the food pantries. Both the Rock Port and Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantries recently received sizeable donations of much-needed food and supplies.

The Slo Rollers hold several car shows in the county and work as volunteers at a regional car council event in Lincoln, Nebraska, to earn funds used in these donations. The Slo Rollers car club appreciates the assistance of all individuals who donated, as well as Tarkio Hy-Vee who helps the club’s funds stretch as far as they can to purchase the most amount of goods possible.
