The 2020 East Atchison Cross Country season was a huge success. The athletes finished well at districts and sent four on to state competition. The runners were recently honored by their coach with letters and individual certificates for their achievements. Honorees included:

Letter winners – Jordan Graf, Hunter Bennett, Lucas Joesting, Matthew Driskell, Daniel Lesher, Jaecey Hill, and Hayleigh Vinzant

Participation awards – Thomas Danielson, Jaden Clark, Trinity Wooten, Brooklyn Wennihan, and Alexis Bywater

Individual awards – Most Improved Male, Daniel Lesher; Most Improved Female, Brooklyn Wennihan; and Most Valuable Player, Jordan Graf

Jordan Graf – All-Conference, placing 7th in the 275 Conference meet with a time of 19:14; All-District honoree and State qualifier placing 9th at Districts with a time of 19:55 and 63rd at State with a time of 19:02

Hunter Bennett – All-District honoree and State qualifier placing 11th at Districts with a time of 20:14 and placed 122nd at State with a time of 20:29

Daniel Lesher – All District honoree and State qualifier placing 12th at Districts with a time of 20:15 and placed 88th at State with a time of 19:36

Hayleigh Vinzant – All Conference honoree placing 8th at Conference with a time of 26:40; All-District honoree placing 12th with a time of 25:30; and State qualifier placing 128th with a time of 26:32

The EA boys placed third overall in the 275 Conference and third in the District as a team.

The EA girls placed second in the 275 Conference and third in the District as a team.
