EA Wrestling Senior Parents’ Night

The East Atchison High School Wrestling Team honored its senior members and their parents during a quad meet Thursday, January 21, 2021, at the TAC in Tarkio. Tarkio senior wrestler Jayden Umbarger was recognized along with his parents, Melinda and Jeff. Grant Turnbull, son of Tim Turnbull and Lisa and Bill Ilsley, is another senior wrestler, but he was unable to attend the event.

Wennihan wrestles in Liberty North Soaring Eagle Scramble

Brooklyn Wennihan, East Atchison’s female wrestler, competed in the Liberty North Soaring Eagle Scramble on Friday, January 22, 2021. Brooklyn wrestled very well in the 122 pound weight class at the event, which hosted over 30 teams. Her results follow: Brooklyn Wennihan over Shayla Troutner (Park Hill South) (Fall 1:14); Brooklyn Wennihan over Lauryn Nelson (Kirksville) (Fall 2:40); and Abbigale Drew (Mexico) over Brooklyn Wennihan (Fall 3:51).
