Devin Lee Schebaum, the son of Dawn Niles and Delmar L. Schebaum, II, was born June 16, 2000, in Fairfax, Missouri. He attended Atchison County Head Start, Rock Port, Missouri, Fairfax Preschool, Fairfax, Missouri, and was currently attending Helen Davis State School, St. Joseph, Missouri. Devin was scheduled to graduate in June 2021.

Devin enjoyed listening to music, pulling his grandpa’s beard, and riding around in the side by side. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Devin loved playing with puppies. He was dearly loved by everyone and will be remembered for his laugh and smile.

Devin passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at his home in Rock Port at the age of 20 years.

Devin was preceded in death by grandfathers, Delmar L. Schebaum, I, and Jerry Ellison; great-grandparents, Doris Kenner, and Herbert and Leta Sickler; aunts and uncles, Tammy and George Simmons, Richard “Dicky” Niles, and Richard Rollins; cousins, Justin and Jasen Shinn; and dear family friend, Damion Smith. Survivors include mother and stepfather, Dawn Niles (Jeff Lotter), Rock Port; father and stepmother, Delmar L. Schebaum, II (Cookie), Tarkio, Missouri; siblings, Kayla Thomas (Tyler), Rock Port, Michael Eddlemon (Natasha Smith), Rock Port, Brice Lambert, Fairfax, and Blaine Lambert and Braylen Lambert, Tarkio; grandparents, Dennis (Karen) Niles, Tarkio, Karen Schebaum, Westboro, Missouri, Ron Lotter, Auburn, Nebraska, Marcha Armstrong, Tarkio, and Ron and Eva Murry, Fairfax; nieces and nephews, Chloe Eddlemon, Destiny and Octavian Smith, and Lance, Damon, Bexley, Ledgen, and Kaia Lambert; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A public memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Davis Funeral Home in Tarkio. (The memorial service will be streamed live on Shawn Minter’s Facebook page.) The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Davis Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Rev. Glenn Scott will officiate.
