Rev. Mark A. Moon is the new temporary stated supply pastor for the First Presbyterian Churches of Fairfax and Tarkio.
The First Presbyterian Churches of Fairfax and Tarkio have announced that Rev. Mark A. Moon is their temporary stated supply pastor.
Pastor Mark comes to Atchison County from Raytown, Missouri, in the south Kansas City area. He is married to his wife Linda Moon of Raytown, who works for Hallmark Cards as a customer service representative. Pastor Mark is living at the manse of Tarkio Presbyterian Church. He and Linda are parents to Matt Moon of Liberty, Missouri. Matt works for State Street Investments, and is married to Andie Moon, currently working as an office manager for a legal serving company. She is also studying to be a teacher through the Northwest Missouri State University, Kansas City Extension. They have two children, Olivia and Brandon Moon. Pastor Mark and Linda are also parents of Holly Clark of North Kansas City, who works from home for St. Luke’s Hospital as an appointment setter.
Pastor Mark is excited to be serving the Lord in not only one, but two congregations. He loves watching and acting in community theatre, bowling, golf, and occasional opportunities to go fishing. He loves to meet new people and learn the life stories and history of the communities he has been contracted to serve.
Pastor Mark attended the University of Missouri, Kansas City where he received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration/Computer Science, followed by a Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. He has been an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for 26 years, serving in the inner city of Kansas City for 18 years and five years in rural ministry. He is also a veteran of the US Navy and served from 1978 – 1981 on board the USS Independence CV62 out of Norfolk, Virginia, as a Ship Serviceman Second Class Petty Officer.
