A one-vehicle crash occurred in Atchison County April 20, 2021. The wreck took place at 10:45 a.m. as a 2016 Peterbilt, driven by Dennis G. Dodd, 70, of Belton, Missouri, was traveling southbound on Route T, seven miles north of Watson, Missouri. The Peterbilt’s passenger side tires travelled off the west side of the roadway and the towed unit overturned onto its passenger side. The Peterbilt came to rest on its wheels facing southwest, blocking the southbound lane. The towed unit came to rest on its side facing south.

Dodd, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and was transferred by private vehicle to George C. Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa. The Peterbilt sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene by GT Towing. The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M.A. Harris, who was assisted by Trooper K.A. McCallister, CVO J.E. Lawrence, and CVO K.L. Shewey.
