Imogene Scott, the daughter of Carl D. and Elizabeth (Lizzie Farmer) Nichols, was born October 26, 1930, in Wellington, Texas. Imogene moved with her family at the age of 5 from Oklahoma to Los Angeles, California.

Imogene spent her childhood working in the fields picking cotton, strawberries, fruits from the local orchards, or babysitting for the neighbors. In the 9th grade, Imogene dropped out of school to go to work and start her own family. She was the mother of five children: Wanda Lorraine Carver, Stanley (Sonny) Carver, Steven Wayne Carver, Gary Lee Scott, and Henry Ford Scott, Jr.

Imogene spent more than 52 years working at numerous restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores. She loved talking with people and listening to their life stories. After the children were grown, she moved back to Mangum, Oklahoma, to be near her parents. In 2016, she moved to Rock Port, Missouri, to be with her sister Peggy and niece Debby. Before dementia took her memories, Imogene loved to work in her garden, grow fruit, and was always ready to share a good cup of coffee with family and friends. She loved animals and always had several cats and dogs. Imogene passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 90.
