The Rock Port Center is open and is now serving lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The center was closed to in-house dining for 13 months. Carmen Ellison said, “Every week we were asked when are we going to open for lunch. Well folks, we are open for lunch! We realize it takes getting used to dining in at the center but we are way behind in our number of meals served.” In order to receive funds from the government a certain number of meals must be served.
Those numbers have been seriously depleted, and the Rock Port Center desperately needs the population of age 60 and older to dine in at the Center. “Our meals are delicious and very reasonable in cost, so please come in,” said Carmen. “You do not need reservations just come in and partake of a meal and share some conversation with others, it will do us both good.”
