Paul Franklin Hubbard, Sr. was born March 29, 1927, in Irvington, Kentucky. He was the son of George and Maggie (Meador) Hubbard. Paul grew up in the Irvington and Louisville areas and attended school there. Paul served in the United States Navy during World War II and also in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and also a Purple Heart Medal.
On March 4, 1955, Paul married Anna Alice Stine and they became the parents of Regina, Paula, and Paul, Jr. The family lived in the Fairfax community, where Paul worked as a carpenter for Sly Lumber Co. He also had worked as a truck driver. Paul was a volunteer fireman with the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years. He was also a cancer survivor.
Anna passed away suddenly on February 28, 1979. Paul married Sharon K. Smith on October 21, 1982, and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2015. In addition to his parents and wives, Paul was preceded in death by sister, Virginia Johnson; brother-in-law, Gilbert Johnson; brother, Howard Hubbard; grandson, Luke Hansen; and an infant great-grandson.
Paul passed away on December 12, 2020, at Community Hospital-Fairfax at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 13 days. He is survived by daughters, Regina Noland and Paula Hansen, both of Maryville, Missouri; son, Paul Hubbard, Jr., of the Branson, Missouri, area; sister, Lucy Bassett, Louisville,Kentucky; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Paul has been cremated under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home, Fairfax.
Memorial graveside services and inurnment for Paul Hubbard, Sr., age 93, Fairfax, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax, officiated by Rev. Glenn Scott. Mr. Hubbard died December 12, 2020.
