Dr. Delvin Duane Duntz, 86, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville.

He was born Saturday, June 23, 1934, in Smith Center, Kansas, and was the son of the late Harry Emerick Duntz and the late Edna Belle (Golden) Duntz. He was the husband of Iva Jean (Myer) Duntz, who survives him. They were married on October 6, 1956.

He was a US Army Captain and served his country proudly. He was a graduate of Smith Center Kansas High School and Kansas State with a Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine. Delvin lived in Rock Port, Missouri, from 1967 to 1984 and was a USDA Federal Meat Inspector. From 1984 to 1989 he traveled as a Circuit Federal Meat Inspector. He retired in 1989 to start his hobbies of master gardener, master woodworker making clocks, farm tractors, and various toys. He loved watching his children and grandchildren in all their activities. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Higginsville. Delvin will be sorely missed by all his family and many friends.

Surviving are his wife, Iva Jean; one daughter, Amy Diane (Duntz) McDonald of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren, Garrett R. McDonald, Lauren-Ashley Naill, Colin Andrew McDonald, and Michael Charles Duntz; two great-grandchildren, Ily Brooke Naill and Kai Edward Reyes-McDonald.

He was predeceased by one son, Alan Eugene Duntz, and one brother, Dennis Dean Duntz.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 18, 2021, at Grace United Methodist Church, located at 16 W. 15th Street, Higginsville, with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
