Rock Port Pool

Rock Port swim lessons will be held Monday-Friday, July 5-9. Lessons are free to all participants. Your child must be pre-registered by Friday, July 2, so that enough volunteers are on hand to help in the water. Children ages 3 & 4 may sign up for “Parent-Child” classes and children ages 5 and up may register for the “Learn to Swim” classes.

Registration will be held Monday, June 28, through Friday, July 2, in the Rock Port City Pool bathhouse during regular pool hours, 1:00-7:00 p.m. Lesson times will be given at registration. If you are interested in helping younger swimmers in the shallow end as a water volunteer this summer email Shauna Farmer at farmers@rpt.coop or contact Lisa Wilczek on Facebook.

Rock Port has been able to offer these lessons free of charge due to so many wonderful volunteers who are willing to give of their time and talents to teach and help with the lessons. Shauna Farmer and Lisa Wilczek have volunteered for over two decades with lessons and this will be their last year. Rachel Jenkins plans to stay on board as a seasoned instructor with the program. Shauna and Lisa sincerely hope that others will step up and help keep this program going. They are even willing to train others onsite this season. Volunteers are needed in all aspects of the lessons. You don’t have to be in the water to be a part of this program. People are needed in the bathhouse and are also needed out on the pool deck to keep track of paperwork. If you are interested in stepping up to help this free program continue, please reach out to Shauna, Lisa or Rachel.
