
The Rock Port and Watson Fire Departments, Missouri Highway Patrol, Atchison-Holt Ambulance, and Atchison County Sheriff’s Department were called out to an accident on Route B near Hwy. 275.

The driver was taken by Air Evac Lifeteam to Lincoln for further treatment.
A truck driver was seriously injured when his 2015 Peterbilt rolled on Route B in Atchison County June 22, 2021. The accident occurred at 3:00 p.m. 3 1/2 miles east of Watson, Missouri, when Andrew M. Williams, age 29, of Excello, Missouri, was southbound on Route B when it travelled off the west side of the road as it rounded a curve, overturned and lost its cargo. The truck came to rest on its passenger side facing southwest, off the west side of Route B.
Williams, who was wearing a seat belt, was able to exit the cab before rescue personnel arrived and in doing so received burns to his hands and knees. He was transported by Air Evac Life Team of Clarinda, Iowa, to Bryan West Medical Center of Lincoln, Nebraska. The truck was totaled and towed by Benefiels. The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C.J. Blue.
