There were seven COVID-19 cases reported in Atchison County from June 21-28: 1 female, 1 male – ages 10-19; 1 male – age 30-39; 1 female – age 40-49; 1 female, 1 male – ages 50-59; 1 male – age 60-69
As of June 28, there have been 467 total cases in Atchison County with seven currently active and 13 total deaths. The current 7-day testing positivity rate is 31.8%. This is because there were 22 tested and seven of them were positive.
COVID-19 TESTING
Atchison County Health Department continues to have BinaxNOW test kits and are available for testing by appointment Monday through Thursday. These tests are FREE. The rapid antigen test provides results within 15 minutes after collecting the sample. This is a great option in identifying positives before going to school or work, so that we do not have to quarantine multiple people due to exposure. Health department staff are available and in the office by 7:30 a.m. each morning. Please call 660-736-4121 if you are in need of testing.

COVID-19 Vaccine
Atchison County Health Department has Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccines available. Walk-ins are welcome. The vaccine is free. Pfizer is the vaccine available for those ages 12 to 17 and an adult will need to be present during the vaccination.
A pop-up clinic at the Velma Houts Building in Rock Port will be held Tuesday, June 29, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. All three vaccines will be available.
