The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, June 17, 2021. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, and North District Commissioner Jim Quimby. Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission, was absent.

The commissioners traveled to Andrew County to attend the Northwest Commissioners meeting.

The Atchison County Commission met Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bills were reviewed and approved.

Clerk Taylor notified the commission that the Senior Citizens Tax Board requested that Karen Vette be appointed to fill the board seat to represent Westboro and Watson, which was open due to the resignation of Bob Fischer. The commissioners approved the request.

Rhonda Wiley, Emergency Management/E-9-1-1 director, was in once again to address the commission about a frequency issue discovered when the order was placed for the responders. This issue has been corrected, which resulted in a cost increase of slightly over $3,000. The total cost will be taken from the CARES Act funding for increased emergency communication. The commissioners voted to approve the amendment and to move forward with the radio/responder bid.

Flood Plain Permit #0012021 for Jade Sybert was reviewed by the commission. Flood Plain Administrator Rhonda Wiley stated that everything was complete on the permit. The commissioners voted to approve permit number 0001-2021.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bills were reviewed and approved.

Additions and abatements to the tax books for May 2021 were approved as follows: personal property – additions: 2018, $23.59; 2019, $66.23; 2020, $2,888.98. There were no abatements from the personal tax books. There were no additions to or abatements from the real tax books.
