Atchison County put on a wonderful 4th of July celebration! Thank you to everyone’s participation and donations to make the events such a success!

The Buttercup at The Flower Mill in Tarkio recently started a “Random Acts of Kindness – Pay It Forward” campaign where you can purchase a drink for a specific person or for a group of people (some so far have included teachers, nurses, a mowing crew, and someone who has rescued or adopted a shelter pet, etc.). The campaign has taken off and over 100 Atchison County residents have received a free tasty drink in thanks for all their hard work and dedication to making our communities a better place to live.

Other businesses, such as JumpStart Nutrition, Makings Bling’n Bows, and Tropical Sno, Rock Port, also recently donated to a worthy cause, raising funds for the late Colby Lansdown’s family. It’s wonderful to see the community come together in times of need.

Speaking of making our communities a better place to live, Jasper Navin, who will be a third grader at Tarkio Elementary this fall, recently picked up trash while taking a walk with his mom. He just wanted to help out. Great job, Jasper!

Make plans to attend the Atchison County Fair and activities July 19-24 in Rock Port. The participants work so hard at growing and showing their animals and all support is appreciated!

If you ordered a class picture at the Rock Port Alumni Banquet, they are ready and can be picked up at the Atchison County Mail in Rock Port. Daddy-Daughter Dance pictures can also be picked up at the Atchison County Mail, Tarkio Avalanche in Tarkio, or Fertilizer Service in Fairfax.
