The Tarkio Rotary Club Board has voted to reinstate the “Rotarian of the Year Award” to a deserving member of the club. Once a feature of the Tarkio Community Betterment Awards Banquet, the program evolved into an award to recognize outstanding members of the community. Later when the CB Awards ceased, so did the award.

Despite a particularly trying year for the club due to the pandemic, the club was able to accomplish some significant projects in 2021. These included finishing the Tarkio City parks playground equipment and the Tarkio Tech Rotary Theater Projects, in addition to the usual projects which the Rotarians do every year.

To celebrate these ac-complishments of the club and to recognize a member who was particularly instrumental in the execution and completion of these projects and to thank him for the dedication, time and effort exhibited, the board has unanimously selected Mr. Darryl Lowrey as the 2021 Tarkio Rotary Club “Rotarian of the Year.” His name will be the first inscribed on a permanent plaque to recognize “Rotarians of the Year” going forward.
