A two vehicle accident occurred in Atchison County at 11:30 a.m. August 2, 2021. The wreck took place when a 1990 Ford Ranger, driven by Joshua L. Green, 34, of Hamburg, Iowa, was westbound on 200th Street approaching Route Y. A 1996 GMC Sierra, driven by Harry R. Horton, 52, of Westboro, Missouri, was driving southbound on Route Y. The Ranger failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the driver’s side of the Sierra. The Ranger came to a controlled stop and the Sierra came to rest off of the east side of Route Y.

Horton, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries in the crash and was taken by private vehicle to Community Hospital-Fairfax in Fairfax, Missouri. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M.A. Harris.
