Nathaniel Wehmeyer is the new band teacher at Tarkio R-I. He was the guest speaker at Tarkio Rotary August 17.

The program for Rotary August 17 was provided by Tarkio’s new band teacher, Nathaniel Wehmeyer. Nathaniel comes to the Tarkio school district with several years of experience. He graduated from Missouri Western in 2009. He taught three years in Winston, Missouri, and most recently seven years in Maryville. He definitely has a love for music and wants to share that love for music with his students.

His music training started in third grade when he started piano lessons. Band started for him in sixth grade. His instrument of choice varies, but he is partial to percussion. He has planned some extra programs that include (AIMS – Advanced Instrumental Music Study) and also Second Chance Band.

Nathaniel lives in Maryville with his two daughters, Pearl and Rose. Mr. Wehmeyer is excited to join the team at Tarkio Schools and looks forward to getting to know everyone.
