Francil O. Davis, age 97, Oro Valley, Arizona, formerly of Fairfax, Missouri, died November 9, 2020, in Oro Valley.

Francil was born September 2, 1923, in Grant City, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late C.C. and Susie M. (Canon) Dunfee.

Francil was a graduate of Daleview High School in Atchison County, Missouri. After high school, Francil attended the Platt Business College in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Upon completion of business college, she worked in the personnel department at the Glen L. Martin Bomber Plant (known as an arsenal for democracy) located at Offutt Field near Omaha during WWII.

She was united in marriage to Richard C. Davis on June 6, 1945, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Two daughters, Connie and Cynthia, were born to this union.

Francil had worked as a medical records transcriptionist for the Community Hospital, secretary to the Fairfax High School principal, and as a bank teller for the Exchange Bank of Fairfax.

Francil was a member of the Fairfax Presbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

Her survivors include daughters, Connie L. Steinman, Marana, Arizona, and Cynthia J. Davis Todd, Oro Valley, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Davis Family Farm (29543 290th Street) Dale Township, Fairfax. In the event of inclement weather, the location will be the Fairfax Community Room at 11:00 a.m. on the same date. Private inurnment will follow the services in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax.

Because Francil was very interested in, and regularly donated to, entities providing services to children, memorials may be sent to St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Montana, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, or Community Services in Tarkio, Missouri, to purchase back-to-school shoes for Atchison County school children.
