Robert Ellis Anderson was born on November 15, 1941, in Tarkio, Missouri, to Mancil and Olive (Walker) Anderson, the third of five children, and went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Seward, Nebraska, at the age of 79.

As a young boy, Bob attended grade school in Tarkio and graduated from Burlington Junction High School in 1959.  He later enlisted in the US Army and served in Japan for three.  Upon his discharge, he came back to work on the family farm in Missouri. On February 6, 1965, he was united in marriage to Jackie Singleton and to this union two daughters were born, Robin and Elizabeth. Together they settled in Lawson, Missouri, where Bob was employed as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways. He was later transferred to Lincoln, Nebraska, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He retired in 2000, earning the million mile safety award. He and Jackie moved back to Milford to be closer to their grandchildren and to attend their school events. He also was an avid reader, using his knowledge to assist others. Bob proudly served as a Milford city councilman from 2002-2004.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Helen Mars and Opal Noble. He is survived by his wife, Jackie, Milford; daughters and son-in-law, Robin and Eric Leichty, Giltner, Nebraska, and Elizabeth Van Veldhuizen of Minnesota; six grandchildren, Christian, Aubrianna and Nathaniel Leichty, and Eliana, Sofia and Adelyn Van Veldhuizen; sisters, Joyce Anderson, Lake Havasu, Arizona, and Zella Johnston, Loveland, Colorado; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Anne Feldman, Ankeny, Iowa, Marian Bywater, Avoca, Iowa, Rose Wilder, Des Moines, Iowa, Henry Singleton, Des Moines, Jesse Singleton, Savannah, Missouri, Richard Singleton, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Donald Noble, Maryville, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Lauber Funeral Home, Milford, with burial at Blue Mound Cemetery, with military honors. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services, Milford, was entrusted with the care and arrangements.
