As we welcome in October at Pleasant View we have a full month of fun planned. The residents enjoyed 10/4 day with a “10-4” Tea at 10:00 a.m. We had sweet treats, tea and good conversation. Deb Martin said, “I really enjoy sitting around with everyone and just getting to visit, Let’s do this more often!”
We enjoy gathering for our daily devotion Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Church was a big part of the residents’ lives and they love gathering to listen to God’s word. We read different Bible verses that relate to our plan for the week, discuss relatable experiences, and how the verse relates to everyday life.
It’s not fall without caramel apples and there was a great turn out for our caramel apple bar. We enjoyed apples, caramel and an assortment of other sweets to decorate the apple slices. After everyone was finished with their treat we divided up and played UNO. The laughter could be heard all through the building. Elaine Schwidnt said, “I always played this game with the kids, but heck if I can remember what I’m doing.”
This week the weather outside has been perfect for some porch sitting and admiring the cattle across the road. The deck was full of residents soaking up the sun and chatting. A lot of residents said we are lucky to have the view we have!
It’s not a normal week without a game of Bingo. Our residents look forward to playing weekly and we have a lot of participants. We will end our week with a ride through Squaw Creek and stopping for lunch.
