Thomas Alan Knierim, the son of John and Dorothy (Batton) Knierim, was born on November 21, 1954, in Rapid City, South Dakota. Tom attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1972. He then attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology in 1976.

On August 21, 1976, Tom was united in marriage to Peggy Davis at Rock Port Baptist Church in Rock Port. They became the parents of two children, Kristan and Shawn.

Tom was employed by numerous manufacturing companies in Lincoln, Grand Island, and later Auburn, all of Nebraska. In 1983, the couple moved to Rock Port, where they lived to the present time.

Tom was a member of Slo Rollers Car Club and Linden Cemetery Board, serving as a secretary. He was also a member of the Atchison County Extension Office and Military Vehicle Preservation Association. Tom had a passion for tinkering and fixing things, he always had a way to keep busy. Tom loved spending time with his family and beloved dog, Daisy. Tom passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 67.

Tom was preceded in death by granddaughter, Amethyst Jade Knierim-Sanderson. Survivors include wife, Peggy Knierim, Rock Port; children, Shawn (Elizabeth) Knierim, Rock Port, and Kristan Knierim (Jake), Price, Utah; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jason, and Lisanna Knierim; parents, John and Dorothy Knierim, Rock Port; siblings, Sue (Kip) Karges, Tuscola, Texas, and Jim Knierim, Louisville, Nebraska; and nephew, Colton Karges.

Graveside service and inurnment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Linden Cemetery, Rock Port, conducted by Pastor Richard Boettner. Open visitation begins at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 21, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Rock Port Food Pantry or the Tom Knierim Memorial Fund.
