The Rotary Pollinator Garden at the Rock Port R-II School farm was planted Wednesday, December 22. The Rock Port Rotary took advantage of the favorable conditions to plant native flowers before winter sets in, after some initial delay in getting the site prepared. The club plans to work with students in Mr. Jeremy Palmer’s Ag classes and FFA to further develop the garden in the spring with mulching and additional plantings. The plants chosen are perennials native to Missouri, are hardy to local conditions and support butterfly and bee populations. Mr. Palmer assisted in selecting and preparing the site.
