The Atchison County Spelling Bee was held Thursday, February 10, 2022, in the Fairfax band room. The top four finishers at the Atchison County Spelling Bee, from left to right, were: Josh Schlueter, Mya Welch, Easton Madron, and Danika Agnew. The top two will move on to the Northwest Missouri Regional Spelling Bee in St. Joseph, Missouri. Josh was the overall winner, correctly spelling the word monopolize. Mya placed second after she misspelled the word repercussion. Easton is the first alternate and Danika is the second alternate.

A total of 11 participants from Fairfax, Tarkio, and Rock Port schools took part.
