The Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxiliary met February 17, 2022. President Merylan Lowrey called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. with 11 members and one guest present. She welcomed everyone and the Auxiliary Prayer was recited.

Merylan then welcomed and introduced Julie Jones, hospital CEO, who gave a presentation on current happenings in the hospital.

Jan Taylor read the minutes from the January meeting.

Ann Martin gave the treasurer’s report. She also presented Robin Salfrank the auxiliary’s donation of a $10,000.00 check to aid in the purchase of a cautery machine. She also presented her a $500.00 check to be forwarded and donated to the Hospital Foundation for the Cruising With Community Hospital-Fairfax Celebrity Waiter Dinner. With the check, our organization will become an Integrity Sponsor of the Celebrity Waiter Dinner/Matinee. Members were encouraged to get their tickets to attend either the Captain’s Dinner on Saturday, March 19, 2022, or the Matinee and Dessert Bar on Sunday, March 20, 2022. We hope many of you will join us at one of these awesome events!

Ann also reminded us that we have yet to pay for the marble bench we have ordered to be placed outside the hospital entrance. Marilyn Alldredge re-ported that the bench is in; we are waiting for it to be engraved and the weather nice enough to install it. Rose Munsey moved to accept both reports as presented. Gerry Tohill seconded and the motion carried.

We were able to have our Chili/Soup Supper this year. We had a fair crowd and it was a successful fundraiser for us. We appreciate all those who supported us and enjoyed the delicious meal. Our local Hy-Vee was very good to us and generously supported us with supplies. We are very grateful for their support. Please help us thank them by shopping locally! The cinnamon rolls we served in place of pie were delicious and very well received by the patrons and we plan to continue with them in the future.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, at 1:30 in the CH-F Hospital Conference Room. We welcome anyone wishing to support our local CH-F Hospital to join us. Please remember to put the following dates on your calendar and join us when you can:

• March 19 and/or 20 – Celebrity Waiter Dinner or Matinee

• April 14 – Spring bake sale 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

• April 21 – Regular auxiliary meeting
