Ellen Joan Driskell, the daughter of Corwin and Lelia Ione (Fletcher) Hardy, was born May 20, 1940, in Malvern, Iowa. Ellen attended a country school in Malvern.

On March 4, 1957, Ellen was united in marriage to Junior Lee Driskell in Imogene, Iowa. They became the parents of six children, Robert Lee, Brian “Keith”, Sandra Kay, Alan Scott, Sally Jo, and Kevin Lane. Junior passed away in September of 1982.

Ellen was employed by St. Francis In Home Services, Maryville, Missouri, where she was dedicated to her patients for 30 years. She retired in 2020.

Ellen loved reading and visiting the Tarkio Branch Library, Tarkio, Missouri. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, and sewing. Ellen especially loved fishing, camping, and spending time with her family. Ellen passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her home in Tarkio, at the age of 81.

Besides her parents and husband Junior Driskell, Ellen was preceded in death by grandson, Jace Driskell; and siblings, Lowell Hardy, Lois Clark, Leonard Hardy, Stella Blackburn, Mary Sapp, and Sherrel Farmer. Survivors include children, Robert (Debbie) Driskell, Keith (Becky) Driskell, Sandy (James Alsup) Meier, and Kevin Driskell, all of Tarkio, Alan (Barb) Driskell, Essex, Iowa, and Sally (Gary Frohn) Driskell, Fairfax, Missouri; grandchildren, JoAnne, Samantha, Jenny, Brian, Cathy, Crissy, Cody, Ashlee, Mitchell, and Preston; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside memorial service and inurnment were held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, conducted by Mr. Chris Stevens.

A Celebration of Life for Ellen Driskell will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Tarkio Community Building. Family and friends are invited to attend the services from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
