Bill Long, the son of Don and Brenda (Miles) Long, was born March 11, 1961, in Fairfax, Missouri. Bill attended numerous Northwest Missouri schools, and Garden City, Kansas, and Cincinnati, Ohio schools.

On August 26, 1989, Bill was united in marriage to Debbie C. Reed in Tulia, Texas. They made their home in Kress, Texas, and became the parents of three daughters, Nicole, Lacy, and Katheryn.

In 1979, Bill was employed by Excel Meat Packing Plant, where he worked as a meat cutter for 10 years. He attended truck driving school, graduating in 1989, and was then employed by Stevens Transport, pulling a long haul refrigerated trailer. In 2000, Bill purchased his own truck and owned and operated Skelley Transportation.

Bill was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church, Mound City, Missouri. Bill passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at his home in Fairfax, at the age of 61.

Bill was preceded in death by sister, Mary Elizabeth Long; grandparents, Skelley and Dorothy Miles; and cousin, Angela Valenzuela. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Long, Fairfax; children, Nicole (Grant) Booker, Shenandoah, Iowa, Lacy Beth Long, San Antonio, Texas, and Katheryn (Jorgegio Neal) Long, Shenandoah; grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Makinze, and Bria; parents, Don Long, Mound City, and Brenda Long, Mound City; brother, Chris Long, La Quinta, California; mother-in-law, Betty Reed, Amarillo, Texas; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Private family memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. Online condolences may be left at www.minterfuneralchapels.com.
