East Atchison falls to Maryville in first game of the season

East Atchison’s first baseball game of the season on Monday, March 21, 2022, was a tough one for the Wolves varsity as they lost the lead to Maryville late in  the game, ending in a 5-6 defeat. The game was tied at four with Maryville batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored one run for Maryville.

In was a wet and blustery day for the two teams as they took the field to start the 2022 season. Maryville captured the lead in the first inning and in the top of the third, the Wolves tied things up at four.

Wolves pitcher Aaron Schlueter started the game for East Atchison, surrendering four runs on five hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Cameron Oswald threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Wolves earn 20-0 shutout in first home game of the season

The baseball legends of the past were clearing cheering for the East Atchison Wolves in the first home game of the season Friday, March 25, 2022, as the Wolves shut out North Andrew 20-0 in Tarkio. Although it was a bit breezy, the sun was shining on the Wolves as they took to the field and didn’t let up once in their onslaught.

Senior pitcher Aaron Schlueter not only hit an inside-the-park home run, but he also led the Wolves with six RBIs. Both he and fellow Wolves pitcher Josh Smith kept North Andrew from scoring in the three innings of play.
