Despite the horrible weather conditions, the first ever high school baseball game between East Atchison Wolves and Rock Port Blue Jays was one to remember! The game ended in a 10-7 East Atchison victory Thursday, April 7, 2022, in Tarkio.
Rock Port captured the lead in the second inning when Zane Cook singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs. The Wolves took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Cameron Oswald doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and an error scored another.
Aaron Schlueter was on the mound for the Wolves and allowed six hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out nine. Josh Smith thre three innings as well. Jarrett Hunter was on the mound for Rock Port. He surrendered nine runs on five hits over four innings, striking out four. Corbyn Jakub threw two innings in relief.
The Wolves racked up five hits in the game with Jarrett Spinnato hitting two triples. Aaron Schlueter hit a home run and Cameron Oswald added two hits with a single and a double.
Rock Port totaled eight hits in the loss. Hunter and Cook each hit three. Hunter also had three RBIs. The Blue Jays stole four bases during the game with Jakub and Phillip Herron each stealing two.

East Atchison’s Blake Simmons hit a triple and Trent Kingery led the Wolves in hits with two. Rock Port’s Aricin Weber had the only hit and also had 2 RBIs.
