Rock Port R-II musicians participated in the District Solo and Small Ensemble Festival April 2, 2022, at Central High School, St. Joseph, Missouri. The solo and small group festival has changed from the traditional Roman numeral rating system to vocabulary ratings with the top three being exemplary, outstanding, and satisfactory.
Results include: Anneliese Clauson, flute solo, outstanding; Arianna Shimmel, vocal solo, outstanding; Bannack Skillen, vocal solo, outstanding; Brentyn Herron, tuba solo, outstanding; Christian Sticken, trumpet solo, satisfactory; Corwyn Herron, vocal solo, satisfactory; Hadleigh Jones, vocal solo, satisfactory; Justice Braniff, vocal solo, satisfactory; Kylie Beasing, clarinet solo, outstanding; Lily Smith, flute solo, outstanding; Ryan Lucas, trumpet solo, outstanding; and Sara Newbanks, bass clarinet solo, satisfactory. Richard Boettner was accompanist.
The RPHS Band traveled to Platte County High School Monday, April 4, to perform at the MSHSAA State Large Ensemble Festival. The students represented Rock Port well and earned an outstanding rating.
