Air Evac Lifeteam members, Pilot Tim Glass, Flight Nurse Jennifer Martin, and Flight Paramedic Alex Abel, spoke to the students about the helicopter and all the rescue services it provides in transporting patients.

Tarkio Police Department K9 Officer Tyler Dorrel and K9 Hemi showed students how the dog can sniff out narcotics.

Atchison-Holt Ambulance District crew members showed the students the ins and outs of the ambulance.

Dakota Buchanan was full of laughter when he realized the firemen’s jacket he tried on was way too big for him.

Tarkio Elementary students enjoyed a Safety Day, sponsored by the Tarkio High School FCCLA Chapter, Wednesday, May 4, 2022. The Tarkio Fire Department, Tarkio Police Department, Atchison-Holt Ambulance District, Air Evac LifeTeam helicopter out of Clarinda, Iowa, and a Tarkio R-I School Bus were on hand with crew members showing the students how each entity and vehicle/piece of equipment keeps everyone safe or provides emergency services when needed.
