The seventh annual Fine Arts Banquet was held May 9, 2022, at Rock Port High School. Mrs. Abby Palmer, Band and Choir Director, welcomed everyone and recognized students for their hard work throughout the year and their accomplishment.
Mrs. Palmer began by recognizing Drum Major Anneliese Clauson. She also announced that Anneliese would be the 2022-2023 Drum Major.
High school band letters were presented to the following: Lilly Pankau (+ Aux 1), Arianna Shimmel (+ Aux 1), Makaila Pruett (+ Aux 1), Avery Meyerkorth, Addison Maifeld, Ryan Lucas, Claire Spiegel, Jaymes Herron, and Anden Cohn, first year; Christian Sticken, Abby Minino, Alisha Lomax, and Brentyn Herron, second year; Kylie Beasing (+ Aux 2), Anneliese Clauson, Sara Newbanks (+ Aux 1), third year.
The following students received high school choir letters: Arianna Shimmel, Makaila Pruett, Caitlyn Casey, and Hadleigh Jones, first year; and Corwyn Herron, fourth year.
The following students were recognized for high school district solo/small ensemble performances: Anneliese Clauson, outstanding flute solo; Arianna Shimmel, outstanding vocal solo; Bannack Skillen, outstanding vocal solo; Brentyn Herron, outstanding tuba solo; Christian Sticken, satisfactory trumpet solo; Corwyn Herron, satisfactory vocal solo; Hadleigh Jones, satisfactory vocal solo; Justice Braniff, satisfactory vocal solo; Kylie Beasing, outstanding clarinet solo; Lily Smith, outstanding flute solo; Ryan Lucas, outstanding trumpet solo; Sara Newbanks, satisfactory bass clarinet solo.
Four-State Honor Band and Choir recognition went to Anneliese Clauson and Kylie Beasing; and Justice Braniff, band; and Arianna Shimmel, Makaila Pruett, Hadleigh Jones, and Caitlyn Casey, choir.
Outstanding musicians were recognized: Skylar Stoner and Quentin Jackson, junior high choir, first semester; Audrey Dougherty and Dayton Hays, junior high choir, second semester; and Desmond Chaney, junior high band.
Junior high auxiliary members were: Morgan Garst, Claire Miller, Audrey Dougherty, Lily Wilroy, batons; Mya Welch, Alley Sharpless, Sophie Storm, Kinleigh Daugherty, flags. The 2022 auxiliary unit for this next fall will be all of the previous junior high auxiliary members plus Lilly Pankau, Arianna Shimmel, Sara Newbanks, Jaylynn Garst, Kylie Beasing, Makaila Pruett, and Taylor Pruett.
Drama awards were given to the following for their contributions in the Pat Cook play “You Can’t Beat the House,” directed by Mrs. Kerri Rodgriguez: Anneliese Clauson (Glenda Spears and set design), Dylan Kemerling (Marla and set design), Bannack Skillen (Howie), Malachi Skillen (Conrad Spears), Ryan Paris (Officer Larraby and set design), Cali Driskell (Madame Zenobia and set design), Sara Newbanks (Courtney Parfait), Erika Elam (Lilian and set design), Stevie Pritt (Fern), and Corwyn Herron (sound).
Mrs. Amy Skillen presented Scholar Bowl awards to the following: Kenneth Brion, participation; Malachi Skillen, Aubrey Watkins, first year letter; Anneliese Clauson, Carter Gebhards, Sara Newbanks, Bannack Skillen, second year letter; Bannack Skillen, All-Conference; and Bannack Skillen, All-District. The team finished the season with second place finishes in the 275 Conference Tournament and the District Tournament.

Art awards were presented by Jennifer Rueckert. Junior high drawing awards were given to Jadyn Geib, Ryder Herron, Logan Lomax, and Mya Welch. Keira Roup and Skylar Stoner received painting awards. Awards for other media went to: Quentin Jackson, printmaking; Dylan Lair, ceramics; and Spencer Newbanks, sketching. Ryder Herron received the Outstanding Junior High Art Award.
High school drawing award were given to Hadleigh Jones (for her self-portrait), and Justice Braniff. Justice received the Curator Award. Awards for other media went to: Anden Cohn, 3D work; Reed Miller, abstract art; Clint Steffen, clay; and Sienna Harmon, digital art and for placing first in an exhibit. Jaylynn Garst received the Outstanding Freshman Award.
Graduating seniors received the following awards: Holden Farmer, character drawing; Jada Maifeld, expression drawing; Angylena Owens, leadership; Hayley Palmer, drawing; Colten Stevens, character drawing; and Carsyn Sybert, character drawing.
