A celebration of life memorial service for Julie (Knajdl) King was held Monday, May 16, 2022, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, Missouri. The service was conducted by Rev. Glenn Scott. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

Julie, the daughter of Bernice Laverne and Ruth Vera (Berkheimer) Knajdl, was born July 4, 1955, in Kearney, Nebraska. Julie attended Amherst High School, Amherst, Nebraska, graduating in 1973.

On January 27, 1989, Julie was united in marriage to Marmer “Butch” Dee King, Jr. in Kearney. They made their home in Elm Creek and Kearney until moving to Tarkio, Missouri, in 1994.

Julie co-founded and managed Cleaning Incorporated and Polaris Cleaning. Due to health concerns, she retired in November of 2020.

Julie loved pets, especially her cats, and helping the community any way she possibly could. She was also an avid St. Jude Children’s Hospital supporter. Julie passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 66.

Besides her parents, Julie was preceded in death by brother, Jim Knajdl, and nephew, Jeff Knajdl. Survivors include husband, Butch King, Tarkio; stepchildren, Deeda Raison, Auburn, Nebraska, Rex King, Aurora, Colorado, and Mike King, Holdrege, Nebraska; siblings, Joyce Knajdl and Gerald Knajdl, both of Kearney; one niece and numerous step-grandchildren and nephews.
