The Heartland Riders Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association has had a goal of raising $15,000 for the annual Run for the Son for each of the past three years. Each year, the generous donations from the church congregations in the county, the support of the people shopping at the chapter’s garage sales, and attending the fundraising nights at the Pizza Ranch have helped the chapter meet its goal. This year, the goal was exceeded with over $19,000 raised. The chapter will be able to present a motorcycle to a pastor in the chapter’s name. Only with the support of the community is this possible.

The Heartland Riders enjoy taking part in the Tarkio Rodeo Parade and Car/Bike Show, the Fairfax Fair, Old Fashioned Saturday Night, and Lord’s Acre Day. At Christmas time, the chapter members put together food boxes for senior citizens in the county. As a chapter and individuals, they love to serve and are happy to call Atchison County home.
