The Rock Port FFA Chapter held its annual banquet Tuesday, May 10, 2022, to recognize members for their accomplishments during the year. President Rylee Jenkins welcomed those present and the 2021-22 officers conducted the opening ceremony. The 2021-22 officers were: Rylee Jenkins, president; Caleb Lucas, first vice-president; Phillip Herron, second vice-president; Kyler Hughes, secretary; Peyton Lager, treasurer; Jayden Krutz, reporter; Brogan Krutz, sentinel; Addison Lair, historian; Ryan Paris, chaplain; and Brecken Kelly, parliamentarian.

Members receiving their Greenhand Degree were: Ryan Athen, Bracton Cook, Cali Driskell, Jaylynn Garst, Ryland Garst, Carter Gebhards, Seth Gubser, Dylan Kemerling, Quentin Leseberg, Ryan Lucas, Cade Makings, Jayme McEnaney, Reed Miller, Lilly Pankau, Stevie Pritt, Makaila Pruett, Payten Shrader, Claire Spiegel, Trenton Wallace, and Aricin Weber.

Payten Shrader presented the FFA Creed.

The Chapter FFA Degree ceremony was conducted. Degrees were presented to Dakota Evans, Brentyn Herron, Jacobi Hogue, Ozey Hurst, Rylee Jenkins, Peyton Lager, Ryan Paris, Keyton Patterson, and Clint Steffen.

Star Awards were then presented. Ryan Lucas was awarded Star Greenhand, Brecken Kelly received the Star in Ag Placement Award, and Dylan Kemerling was named Star Chapter Farmer.

Jeremy Palmer, Chapter Advisor, presented Leadership Awards to the following members: Makaila Pruett, Payten Shrader, Cali Driskell, Lilly Pankau, Jaylynn Garst, Jayme McEnaney, Ryan Lucas, and Ryland Garst, freshmen; Rylee Jenkins, Peyton Lager, Keyton Patterson, Ryan Paris, Dylan Kemerling, Carter Gebhards, Cade Makings, Reed Miller, and Clint Steffen, sophomores; Caleb Lucas, Brecken Kelly, Phillip Herron, Jayden Krutz, Brogan Krutz, juniors; and Addison Lair and Ryan Bradley, seniors.

Scholarship Awards were given to the following: Cali Driskell and Ryan Lucas, freshmen; Rylee Jenkins and Ozey Hurst, sophomores; Phillip Herron and Jarrett Hunter, juniors; Macie Hale, Addison Lair, and Ryan Bradley, seniors.

Meat Evaluation – 18th place at Northwest District CDE. Team members were Ryan Bradley Bracton Cook, Cade Makings, and Aricin Weber.

Agronomy – 21st place at Northwest District CDE. Team members were Peyton Lager, Ryan Lucas, Ryland Garst, and Clint Steffen.

LDE’s (Division 1) – Payten Shrader, Area Competitor; Advanced – Addison Lair, Area Competitor

Scrapbook – Addison Lair, 1st place area, State gold rating

Area Trap Shooting – Zoey Hurst, top lady shooter; Kyler Hughes, 4th place junior shooter; Aricin Weber, 3rd place freshman shooter; 5th place area team

District Trap Shooting – Zoey Hurst, top lady shooter

State Trap – Zoey Hurst was 4th place lady, Brogan Kurtz tied for 40th, Kyler Hughes and Ozey Hurst tied for 61st, Jayden Krutz tied for 102nd place, and Aricin Weber. The team tied for 9th place out of 75 teams.

Ryan Paris received an award for Top Fruit Sales.

Mr. Palmer also noted two members for doing well in State Proficiencies. Brecken Kelly was an Area winner in Grain Production and Peyton Lager was a State winner in Fiber and Oil Crops.

Addison Lair, Corwyn Herron, and Caleb Lucas received the State FFA Degree.

Ms. Kuntz was recognized as an honorary member of the Rock Port FFA Chapter.
