
Paul L. Doughty, the son of Franklin Linnius and Edna Rachel (Wright) Doughty, was born February 18, 1960, in Dallas, Oregon. He attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1978. Paul attended Tarkio College before attending Maryville Technical School, receiving his Licensed Practical Nursing certificate in 1992.
On September 15, 1991, Paul was united in marriage to Mary Lea Nelson at Niedermeyer Park, Tarkio. They made their home in Tarkio before moving to Holiday, Florida, in 1994.
Paul was employed by Excel Beef Plant after high school in Phelps City, Missouri. He then worked as a nurse in a nursing home and jail and prison in Florida, retiring in 2017. In March of 2020, the couple moved to Albany, Missouri, where he lived until to the present time.
Paul was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tarkio. He was a former member of the Boy Scouts and very proud of earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed reading, watching movies, listening to music, and riding motorcycles. Paul passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, at his home in Albany at the age of 62.
Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by adopted grandparents, Charles and Maude Wright; and birth mother, Shay Weathers. Survivors include wife, Mary Doughty, Albany; stepchildren, Kristie (Randy) Poppa, Albany, and Michael Moore, Omaha, Nebraska; numerous step-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. There is no visitation. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
