Once again, the Wingnuts Flying Circus put on a fantastic fly-in and air show event in Tarkio! We are lucky to have such wonderful aeronautical enthusiasts and pilots willing to provide a great day of entertainment in our neck of the woods.

More reports have been made about vandalism at Atchison County parks. We must do better at protecting what we have and staying vigilant to stop anyone – youth or adults who clearly do not appreciate their surroundings – from ruining our cities’ parks.

The Atchison County Fair is next week. The 4-H Achievement Day will kick things off on Monday, July 18, at the Velma Houts Fair Building. Displays, demonstrations, animal shows, and the auction will be held throughout the week. The parade on Main Street will be held Saturday, July 23, at 10 a.m. (registration begins at 9:30 a.m.) and the Family Fun Day will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the fairgrounds.
