Atchison County dancers from Bearcat Boogie Dance Studio in Maryville, Missouri, recently competed in the week-long Starpower Dance Nationals, and brought home some huge accomplishments. Routines are scored by number of stars with five stars being the highest they can earn.

Zoe Riley and her mother, Breanne Miller, competed in the Starpower Dance Nationals.
Zoe Riley, age 6, Fairfax, Missouri, won first place in three numbers at nationals. Solos included “When I Grow Up,” 4.75 stars, first in category, and “I Will Survive,” 5 stars. Group dances were: “Mario Party,” 4.75 stars and first in category; “Bad to the Bone,” 4.75 stars; and “Move It Move It,” 4.75 stars and first in category.

Lyzzy Driskell performed a solo and two group dances at Starpower Dance Nationals.
Lyzzy Driskell, age 6, of Tarkio, Missouri, earned 4.75 stars on her solo “Route 66.” In her group dances, she earned: “Mario Party,” 4.75 stars and first in category; and “Bad to the Bone,” 4.75 stars.

Sisters Avery Schomburg and Zoe Madron competed in the Starpower Dance Nationals.
Zoe Madron, age 14, Tarkio, competed in: “Black Horse in a Cherry Tree” (small group clogging), 5 stars and Category Winner (this dance also won a Golden Ticket at Regionals and the dancers will be going to the World Dance Championship In Secaucus, New Jersey, at the end of this month to perform); “One More I Love You (solo), 4.75 stars; “Pitbull Remix” (hip hop trio), 5 stars, Category Winner, and 3rd Overall; and “Stronger Together” (clogging line with 20 cloggers), 5 stars, Category Winner, 2nd Overall, and they won The National Entertainment Award.
Avery Schomburg, age 10, Rock Port, Missouri, competed in the following: “Iris” (solo), 4.75 stars; “Saxo Beat” (jazz trio), 4.75 stars; “Candy Man” (jazz duo), 4.75 stars; and “Something in the Water” (lyrical duo), 5 stars and Category Winner.

Adrianna Wallace competed in seven events at the Starpower Dance Nationals.
Adrianna Wallace, age 11, Rock Port, danced in seven events. Her results are: Clogging line with 20 cloggers, 5 stars, 2nd place national overall champion, and The National Entertainment Award (one of the highest awards given out with 6-foot trophy); Spoken Word Contemporary solo, “Beauty,” 5 stars; Hip hop trio, “Black/Pink Remix,” 4.75 stars and judges choice award “You Got SWAG”; Ballet duo with Arianna Shimmel, “Most Girls,” 4.75 stars; Jazz duo, “BobbleHead,” 4.75 stars; Musical Theater duo with Declan McRaven, “Partner In Crime,” 4.75 stars; and Lyrical small group, “Rescue,” 4.75 stars.

Declan McRaven, age 14, Rock Port, danced in four events. His results are: Musical Theater solo, “Nonstop” from Hamilton, 4.75 stars; Musical Theater small group, “Live in Living Color,” 4.74 stars and the judges choice award for “Fabulous Faces”; Hip Hop small group, “Old School Mix,” 4.75 stars and 6th place overall; and Musical Theater duo with Adrianna Wallace, “Partner in Crime,” 4.75 stars.

Arianna Shimmel performed two dances in Starpower Dance Nationals.
Arianna Shimmel, age 16, Rock Port, performed the following – “Exhale” novice jazz solo, 4.75 stars and won 1st in her category; and “Most Girls” ballet duo with Adrianna Wallace, 4.75 stars and 1st in novice ballet group.

Joanna Driskell, Breanne Miller, and Nichole Wallace performed in the Moms Squad, “Tell Me What You Want.” They received 5 stars, first place overall in the age 20+ Advanced division, first in category trophy, and were invited to the Advanced Battle Of The Stars Showdown.
