A Nebraska man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident July 5, 2022, five miles north of Rock Port, Missouri, on I-29. Charles E. Janzen, 49, of Hampton, Nebraska, was southbound on I-29 at the 115.6 mile marker when he fell asleep. The 2004 Peterbilt he was driving travelled off the west side of the interstate, became airborne, and struck the ground. The truck came to rest off the west side of the roadway on its wheels facing south.
Janzen, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Community Hospital-Fairfax by Atchison-Holt ambulance. Sgt. K.F. Jeffers was the investigating officer. He was assisted by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department.
