Thanks to the generosity of Tarkio Tech, the scouts were able to use several locations on campus for their campout.

On the evening of Friday, September 9, 2022, over 35 Pack 88 Cub Scout and Troop 88 Boy Scout members and their families gathered for a campout on the campus of Tarkio Tech. Scouts gathered late in the afternoon to set up camp below the Thompson Learning Center and to prepare for evening activities by setting up a dining canopy and starting campfires.

Pack 88 Webelos (5th graders) prepared walking tacos for dinner as part of their den requirements. That evening, scouts spent time learning about hiking safety and essentials to pack on a hike, playing games and working on merit badges. In addition to enjoying some free time, scouts made s’mores and then shared skits and stories around the campfire.

The following morning, Troop 88 Boy Scouts cooked pancakes while camp was taken down and cleaned up. The rain moved in just as the last items were packed up. Cub Scouts headed home for the day, while Boy Scouts continued to meet in the park and work on merit badges and other activities.
