The Tarkio Police Department was called to the scene of an attempted abduction of an adult female between 1:15 and 1:20 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the intersection of 4th and College streets in Tarkio (300th block of College Street). The victim is in her early 20’s and was taking a walk at the time. The suspects were reported to be two dark complected, Middle Eastern or Hispanic males, in a white, box style utility van that was dirty from possibly being on gravel roads. The subject who injured the victim while attempting to abduct her was wearing a blue shirt and white or gray shoes.

In light of the attempted abduction, EVERYONE who has and utilizes a home or business security camera system or CCTV (ie. Blink, Ring), review your footage between 12:45 to 1:30 p.m. (for Tarkio) and 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. (for Fairfax and Rock Port area) of ANY white utility or cargo vans captured and PLEASE forward the footage to chief.tyson.gibbons@gmail.com. Your footage and information will very likely assist in the investigation. The focused route of interest is along Hwy. 59, Hwy. 136, and Main streets, but without a doubt, any camera anywhere may have caught this vehicle’s movements.
