The East Atchison Cross Country teams competed in the Duane Kimbel Invitational Cross Country Meet September 20, 2022. The meet was hosted by Benton High School, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The EA girls’ team placed third overall. The top 25 runners medaled. Results for the EA runners are as follows: Jayla Irvine, 4th place, 22:47.3; Brooklyn Wennihan, 8th place, 24:04.6; Kierra McDonald, 24th place, 27:01.3; Kendal Straub, 25th place, 27:32.2; Alexis Bywater, 26th place, 27:58.2; and Emmy Laur, 31st place, 32:36.8.

The EA boys’ team also placed third overall. The top 25 runners medaled. Results for the EA runners are as follows: Daniel Lesher, 5th place, 18:26.6; Cole Anderson, 22nd place, 20:01.4; Ian Stepp, 24th place, 20:31.0; Jarrad Jamison, 26th place, 20:56.0; Cowen O’Riley, 28th place, 21:21.2; Clayton Vernon, 34th place, 21:50.1; and Quin Staten, 47th place, 23:24.9.

In the JV boys’ race, Connor Morton placed 6th and medaled with a time of 22:00.7; Isaac Vette placed 14th and medaled with a time of 28:36.3; Bryon Ohlensehlen placed 15th and medaled with a time of 28:41.5; and Kendall Kingery placed 18th with a time of 34:49.6.
