In 1964, she was united in marriage to David F. Merriett in Nodaway County and became the parents of two sons, David and Byron. They later divorced.

On June 21, 1974, she married the love of her life, Phillip Clark. They together became parents to a son, Timothy, and she became a stepmom to Wanda, Karla, and Roger. Phil went to heaven on May 18, 2018.

But above everything, Roberta loved her family, and her family loved her. Her bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her passion and life. Roberta left her earthly home and joined Phil on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care surrounded by her family and loved ones.
