Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry

The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax, Missouri, Food Pantry is currently low on the following items: flour (5 lb. bag), sugar (5 lb. bag), creamy peanut butter (16 oz.), boxed macaroni and cheese, vegetables (15 oz.), pork and beans, chili style beans, pastas (ramen noodles, macaroni, medium egg noodles, spaghetti), Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, Chicken Helper, frozen pizzas, and toilet paper.

Monetary donations are also appreciated as the money allows the shelves to be stocked with the items that are low. Donations intended for the local food pantry need to be given directly to the pantry. For after hours donations, call 816-261-2672.

The pantry will be open  Thursday, October 27, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The holidays are approaching and the dates will change for the months of November and December.

In November, the food pantry will open Tuesdays, November 8 and 15, and Thursdays, November 10 and 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  On Tuesday, November 8, the food pantry will also be open in the evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The Tarkio First Christian Church will be responsible for opening the food pantry in November.

The opening dates will also be earlier in December.  The food pantry will be open Tuesdays, December 6 and 13, and Thursdays, December 8 and 15, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  On Tuesday, December 6, the food pantry will also be open from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The food pantry board members will be responsible for opening the pantry in December.

Clients are reminded of the policy for inclement weather. If area schools are closed due to inclement weather, the food pantry will also be closed. If schools have a 10:00 a.m. late start due to inclement weather, the food pantry will also open late. They will open at 10:00 a.m. and remain open until 12:00 noon.

The food pantry board meeting will be Monday, November 7, at 9:30 a.m.

The food pantry is located at 315 Main Street in Tarkio.

Rock Port Food Pantry

The Rock Port Food Pantry is low on the following items: peanut butter, jelly, cooking oil, mandarin oranges, small canned hams, Spam, fruit juice, crackers, spaghetti sauce, elbow pasta, pancake mix, ketchup, and crackers.

Items can be taken to the Rock Port United Methodist Church, 211 W. Opp. The food pantry is located in the fellowship hall. The food pantry will be open Friday, October 28, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, November 1, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; Friday, November 11, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, November 15, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; and Friday, November 25, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
