The Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxiliary met the afternoon of October 20 in the hospital conference room. Seventeen members and two guests were in attendance. The upcoming November and December events were discussed. These include the fall bake sale, poinsettia sale, gift shop discount days, the angel tree memorial, and the employee appreciation tea.

During the meeting treasurer Ann Martin presented the hospital administrative assistant Robin Salfrank a check for $6,000 to help with the purchase of a dishwasher for the hospital kitchen. In the last five years the auxiliary has donated $78,415.66 towards hospital projects. Some of the items purchased over this five year span include a lab microscope, infant warmer, transport incubator, obstetric room furniture, cautery machine and more.

Gerry Tohill reported that the quilt donated to the auxiliary by the Piecemakers of Rock Port was raffled at the quilt show October 1. All the money raised by the raffle went into the auxiliary scholarship fund. Each year students pursuing a secondary degree in a health field can apply for a scholarship through the auxiliary.

The various committees met following the meeting to continue plans for the upcoming events. The next meeting is November 17 at 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested in the activities of the auxiliary is invited to attend.
