• Curfman and Son is advertising the New Hoover Cleaner. The Hoover Popular-Priced Cleaner, Model 28 is $69.95; Hoover DeLuxe Cleaner, Model 61 is $89; and the New Hoover Cylinder Type, Model 50 is $79.50.
• Morning Sun news: Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Poppa and George Foster entertained at a Halloween party Wednesday evening at their home. Guests came in costume and masked and bearing Jack-o-lanterns. Winners of the costume parade prizes were Betty Mather as Little Red Riding Hood and Elwyn Pursell dressed as an old lady. Games included bobbing for apples, an initiation game, a pumpkin-head race, a cats and witches contest, and eating apples suspended from strings. Pumpkin pie, cider, and Halloween candy were served.
• Tarkio High School gridsters will play the Tarkio alumni in a football game sponsored by the Booster Club Thanksgiving Day, November 27, at the college athletic field. Proceeds will be used to purchase athletic equipment for the high school.
• Purchase of the stock of the Joels Clothing company of Clarinda, Iowa, and leasing of the store building was completed Saturday by Lynn Akey and Bill Abell. Mr. Abell, who has operated a successful produce market in Tarkio, has been here for five years with his wife and son. Mr. Akey will be joining Mr. Abell once his resignation becomes effective from the Gallup Golden Rule Stores, Inc., here.

• The THS senior class of 1973 will present “Annie Get Your Gun” November 17 and 18 in the Tarkio High School auditorium. Just about every senior is actively involved in the production. Kerry Sue Mincer plays Annie Oakley, Duke is Frank Butler, Bob Lade is Buffalo Bill, Charles Davis is Charlie Davenport, Tim Ryan is Sitting Bull, and Sue Davis is Dolly.
• The Flower Bowl has moved to a new location at 509 Main Street in the newly remodeled building owned by the Rev. W. L. Rains. The building was formerly the Redfern Body Shop.
• A portable hair dryer was presented for use at Northview Manor in Tarkio by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 199. The dryer will make it easier to take care of patients confined to a wheelchair.

• The Tarkio Chamber of Commerce hosted a slate of activities for area residents for its annual Harvest Day celebration. Gift certificates for $10 from local businesses were awarded to 10 people. MaryAnn Hull, who dressed up like a scarecrow, was the winner of the merchant costume contest. Krystal Hull was the winner of a guessing game at Summa Pharmacy. She guessed there were 650 pieces of candy corn in a glass jar, and there were 716.
• Curtis Evans and Curtis Hedrick with the Tarkio Water Company have been busy flushing hydrants in Tarkio. They do this two times a year to maintain the quality of the water throughout town.
• Despite the windy and rainy day, approximately 300 people attended the Business and Professional Women’s Christmas Craft Show November 2 at the Community Building in Tarkio. Twenty-seven crafters displayed their wares.
