John 1:1-5 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:14 – “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His Glory the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
In John 8:12 Jesus says this, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
This Christmas season that we are entering, let us enter it with a heart of gratitude, joy and peace. The Light of the World has come bearing the most beautiful gift – the gift of eternal life, of true joy, of peace that surpasses all understanding, of love overflowing and of grace abundant. As you get ready for the season and you are hanging lights, putting up your tree, and buying gifts, let each one of these things be a sweet reminder of all Jesus has done for us. That He is our light, He is life and there is no greater gift you can give or get than that of the Good News of Christ. Won’t you give this gift this year and won’t you receive Him?
Blessing and peace to you all this Christmas Season!
