The City of Fairfax Board of Aldermen held a regular meeting December 15, 2022. The meeting was called to order by Tabitha Wintz, alderman, at 6:30 p.m. Also in attendance were: Shannon Long, Kristi Duering, and Debra Wyatt, aldermen; Lori Helfers, City Clerk; Danny Kemerling, Treasurer; and John Brown, Water Superintendent.         

The tentative agenda was approved.

Danny Kemerling inquired about using city hall to display Fairfax memorabilia.  After a short discussion the issue was tabled until the next meeting.

The aldermen approved the minutes of the November 16 meeting and accounts payable.

New Business

The 2023 budget was presented to the council. It was decided that there were no changes that needed to be made.

Bill #2022-24 titled: A resolution of the City of Fairfax, Missouri, approving and adopting the annual budget for the fiscal year January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, was presented and read by title by Tabitha Wintz. It was approved unanimously. Bill #2022-24 assigned Resolution #2022-1563.

Lori Helfers reported on several different complaint calls with properties regarding trash, junk, damaged and/or disabled vehicles. Letters will be sent out and owners will have 15 days to comply. If not cleaned up then it will get sent to the city attorney to proceed with fining property owners.

The meeting moved into executive session at 7:30 p.m. to discuss personnel. The executive session closed at 7:45 p.m.

The regular meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. The next meeting will be January 18, 2023.
