The first graders sang and accompanied the cast during the Christmas program “The Night the Reindeer Rocked.”
Rock Port R-II Elementary students presented their program, “The Night the Reindeer Rocked,” Thursday, December 15. When the reindeer get in the way around the workshop, Santa suggests they get a part-time job. So they form a rock and roll band and are hired by Mr. Bookem (a talent agent) to play at “Rudy’s Place” on opening night – which just happens to be Christmas Eve! The dilemma is resolved with a little help from Mrs. Claus, Santa and the Elves.
The production was directed by Mrs. Lynn Hunter. Musical numbers performed included “Busy, Busy, Busy,” “Gettin’A Part-time Job,” “We’ll Practice Till We’re Perfect,” “Reprise: We’ll Practice Till We’re Perfect,” “What Will We Do?” “Here’s What We Will Do,” and “Gettin’ Ready for Christmas.”
The cast of characters included Nash Schomburg as Santa and Kinsley Nuckolls as Mrs. Claus. Elves were Jossalyn McRaven, Abilene Moore, Bertie Meyerkorth, Lucy Ottmann, Michelle Rouse, Raelynn Stoner, and Kamryn Lair. Reindeer were: Dasher, Grant Unruh; Dancer, Zepplin Roup; Prancer, Mason Gubser; Vixen, Jagger Jones; Comet, Austin Alexander; Cupid, Ryker Gibson; Donner, Greyson Sperber; Blitzen, Eli Meyerkorth;and Rudolph, Jarrett Jackson. Frank Kroeger was Mr. Bookem, and Kayden Schultz and Gage Werner were announers.
Second graders participating included: Sophia Bare, Aislyn Barnes, Kyler Culp, Blaykleigh Daugherty, Raylan Daugherty, Markie Gaines, Brantley Garst, Maddie Henggeler, Abel Holmes, Portia Ingram, Lincoln Leichliter, Louie Lesebrg, Baylin Lewis, Daxxyn Moore, Vera-Ann Newbanks, Oliver Paris, Kinsley Perry, Dale Pinzino, and Jaylee Wood.
