Joyce Elane Livengood, the daughter of Fred and Geraldine (James) Campbell, was born July 29, 1940, in Elmo, Missouri. Joyce attended Elmo High School, graduating in 1958.

In November of 1959, Joyce was united in marriage to Dale Livengood. While Dale finished college, they made their home in Maryville, Missouri. Upon graduation, they moved to St. Louis, Missouri. In the late 1960’s, they moved to Tarkio, Missouri, to be closer to family. They became the parents of five children, Gail, Lacretia, Craig, Eric, and Brent.

Joyce was a homemaker, caring for her children. She then was employed as a secretary for Livengood Accounting.

Joyce was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tarkio, serving as President and Vice President of United Methodist Women. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Joyce loved traveling, knitting, crocheting, and doing arts and crafts projects. Joyce passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 82.

Besides her parents and husband, Dale Livengood, Joyce was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara and Bob. Survivors include children, Gail (Curtis) Hedrick, Lacretia Livengood, Craig (Diane) Livengood, Eric Livengood, and Brent (Starla) Livengood, all of Tarkio; grandchildren, Chancelee, Cara, Kyle (LeeAnn), and Elizabeth; step grandchildren, Jill, Justin, Curtis, Adam, and Jacob; numerous great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Friday, January 27, 2023, at the United Methodist Church in Tarkio. Interment was held at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Pastor Cathy Riggins officiated.
